    • Passed a scoring test to demonstrate their ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses in writing
    • Passed a “feedback” test to demonstrate their ability to provide helpful explanations and suggestions to student writers

    Melissa L. has a Bachelor's degree, graduated Summa Cum Laude, and is a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society.  Though she studied theology, she has devoted her career to teaching reading and writing from K-12 to graduate students. She believes that every student already possesses the answers to problems and just needs help tapping into that knowledge. Her debut novel was a finalist in the 2020 Next Generation book awards.

     Mark Mangelsdorf has a Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing and has received numerous awards for his fiction, acceptance to, among other residencies, the New York State Summer Writers Institute, and a Fulbright Scholarship to Romania for his experience as a teacher.   He has spent the past six years teaching college writing, working as a technical writer, and conducting one-on-one tutoring sessions online. He describes his career in both writing and writing education as multi-faceted, comprised of shifting challenges and opportunities, and he enjoys helping his students find new and exciting ways to articulate their ideas.

    Kristina Greenwood holds a BA in Religion and a Masters in Education.  She is passionate about student success and has developed and implemented programs over the last 25 years to help students achieve demanding college goals in classrooms and individually.  She centers her approach toward student success around the belief that strong writing and critical thinking are the keys to success in any study area.  Her college journey (from Biology to Theology to Education), coupled with a life-long love of reading, makes her a fierce Quizzo competitor!
